The Charities for 2021

Please help us to sponsor and name a Guide Dog Puppy - when trained it will be located in the Fylde and will give a lifeline to someone with sight loss, be it a child or an adult. Moreover we would like you to help us give the puppy a name!

Here’s how to do it, each team that enters the swim will be given a special naming form, when completed, gives you the opportunity to submit your choice of name. The name will be decided from all applications and announced at the swimarathon presentation in March 2020. Good Luck!
Each year, we try to choose a beneficiary that offers our swimmers the chance to fulfil the core aim of the event - children swimming for children. This year two causes stood out...

This locally based organisation offers help and support to needy families in our area. They have been given  small grant to have a (CEOP) Child Exploitation Online Protection Ambassador helping to provide families with the skills, knowledge and confidence to keep themselves and their children safe on and offline.

This grant will only last until March 2020, but with your help and a successful swimarathon this valuable service can be extended to help local families, schools and other organisations in the Fylde.
We also make a donation to the Mayor of the Fylde's chosen charity as a thank you for the time the Mayor dedicates to opening the event.
In the event that the total raised exceeds the amount needed to fund the two main beneficiaries, the remainder of the funds will be used by the LSA Lions Club to fund local initiatives. In the past we have provided funding for schemes such as the Splash water play area in St. Annes, and have purchased defibrillators for local schools.
