The Swimarathon is an annual team swimming event organised by the Lytham St. Annes branch of the Lions International club. The event is now in its 35th year and has raised over £250,000 for deserving community charities and projects since its inauguration.

Throughout the day, teams of eight take part in 50 minute swims, with swimmers taking turns to swim a 25 metre length of the pool. As a team, they complete as many laps as possible in their 50 minute  time allocation. The funds raised are distributed by the Lytham St. Annes Lions Club to the nominated charities for the year, often ones with ties to the the local area.
